Every Day Is Memorial Day For Some

Freedom is never truly free.

Memorial Day is so much more than long weekends, door-busting sales or barbecues with friends. This sacred holiday was created to secure the legacy and remembrance of those American service members who sacrificed their lives so that our country could remain free. It is a reminder of the realities of war and the families that it leaves in its wake.

Marine SSgt David Stewart is one of many who have died protecting our country. He left behind his wife Krissy and two young children, McKenzie and Marshall.

Army CW3 Brian Hornsby, died after his helicopter was shot down over Afghanistan leaving his wife Antonette and two children, Layla and Brady behind.

For Gold Star Families, like the Stewarts and the Hornsbys, every day is Memorial Day.
