Privacy Policy

We are proud to provide a wealth of information and communicate with people like you, who are concerned about the well-being of military families. You can visit almost all of the pages on this site and access the majority of information anonymously. If you want to take advantage of some of our optional programs accessed through MilitaryFamily.org, we will request information that allows us to identify you.

What information do we collect?

When you are interacting with us online (ordering, donating, registering, subscribing to a newsletter, taking a survey, filling out an application, using our mobile app, interacting on a social media page) you may be asked for personal information such as: your name, email address, mailing address, age, phone number, or military service related information. All of this information helps us better meet the needs of military families, serve our users, and improve our programs. You have choices about how we use this information and you may always browse our site anonymously.

How do we use your information?

The information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

  • To personalize your experience
  • To improve our website
  • To improve customer service
  • To process sales, donations, and memberships
  • To process a program application, administer a survey, contest, or promotion
  • To send periodic messages from our Association and/or trusted partners unless you opt out

Do you share information about your donors?

We will not sell, trade or share a donor’s personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations unless you, the donor, have given us specific permission to do so. Donors who are also members of our Association will receive information about your membership and your copy of our newsletter sent six times a year. We will also maintain your subscription to any of our other publications or notices you elect to receive.

How do I manage my subscriptions?

You can unsubscribe from receiving email messages from us. Simply follow the unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of any of our emails or send a request to info@MilitaryFamily.org with unsubscribe in the subject line.

Visitors to our site who apply to participate in a program or award will automatically be opted-in to receive email messages in order to administer the program and send information on future programs, news, and offers. You may opt-out after you receive your confirmation message but we will not be responsible for any undeliverable notifications or updates about possible awards or acceptance.

Do the privacy protections exist in the Association’s Online Community?

It is important to understand that the information you submit in message boards, blogs, chat rooms, and user groups is publicly displayed. People and organizations not related to the National Military Family Association will see your messages and may try to contact you. As a result, you should be careful about the information that you publish online. Because these unrelated parties will also see your “User Name” on any postings that you make in online discussions, you may want to use your first name only, or use an assumed name.

Do we use cookies?

Yes. We use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart, understand and save your preferences for future visits, and compile data about site traffic and interactions so we can offer better site experiences in the future.
