Operation Purple Camp – Williamsburg, VA

Jamestown 4-H Center

In 1928, Jamestown 4-H Educational was the first, fully dedicated 4-H Camp built in the commonwealth. Today we provide year-round recreational and educational opportunities for children and adults of all ages in a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment. Our unique location on the shores of the James River offers the ideal setting for children to learn about the world around them. Our living shoreline is an “outdoor classroom” in which campers can explore the wetland habitat and marine life that lives in and around the James River.

We believe that today’s campers are tomorrow’s leaders. Our programs are designed to enable children to make new friends, learn new skills, build confidence and gain independence. Our camp counselors serve as positive role models and leaders and encourage children to create memories and make friends that will last a lifetime. Campers choose from the following activities: swimming, boating, nature programs, arts and crafts, music, athletics, shooting sports, adventure and leadership.
