Amazing Camp Location Hosts Needed!

As we approach our 20th year of programming, we are proud to offer camps across the country the opportunity to host military kids as Operation Purple Camp partners.

Our camp location partners have the opportunity to create safe, exciting experiences that give kids from military families free access to a week of camp where they can have fun, get connected to other military kids, and experience the magic of summer camp with other kids who know what it’s like to have a parent in the military.

Here’s What Matters

Our goal at the National Military Family Association is to build partnerships with organizations with whom our mission and values align. Standing beside military families is at the core of NMFA’s history—when you partner with NMFA and the Operation Purple program, you’re demonstrating that importance of supporting our heroes and their families—including our littlest heroes: military kids.

Whether your camp location has hosted an Operation Purple program in the past, or you’d like to become a host in the future, please apply today!

What to Expect as an Operation Purple Camp Host

Ideal camp partners will:

  • Host Operation Purple campers exclusively onsite for one week using the camp’s full summer staff.
  • Run their traditional summer programming and implement a few extra elements of Operation Purple Camp-specific curriculum that recognize the experience and needs of military-connected campers.
  • Show strong inclusion policies and procedures
  • Be an accredited summer camp interested helping the kids of our military members enjoy a week of respite, outdoor education, and peer connection
  • Accept campers as diverse as our nation’s military

Operation Purple Camp Partner Benefits

Military children are a special group—just ask any previous Operation Purple Camp hosts; they’ll agree! In addition to providing service to those who serve, camps may enjoy benefits including:

  • One or more full weeks of campers onsite paid for in partnership by funders of NMFA
  • The opportunity to introduce a new group of area youth to your camp and programming
  • Local and national media coverage
  • Connections with other Operation Purple camp locations across the country
