The National Military Family Association Names Besa Pinchotti Executive Director and CEO

Alexandria, VA — The National Military Family Association Board of Governors is delighted to announce Besa Pinchotti as the Association’s new Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer.

Pinchotti steps into this position after having served most recently as Acting Executive Director and Senior Director for Advancement at the National Military Family Association (NMFA).

“In her eight years at NMFA, Besa has demonstrated unparalleled leadership, enthusiasm and commitment to the Association, its people, and the community we serve,” said Tina Jonas, Chairman of the Board of Governors. “The Board is excited to strengthen its support of military families under Besa’s continued leadership.”

As Executive Director, Pinchotti brings years of leadership at NMFA, a deep understanding of the military community, and strong partner relationships. She is an award-winning journalist and marketer whose passion for our military began during her time as a reporter and television news anchor. From Jacksonville, NC to Kosovo, her assignments opened her eyes to the post-9/11 military experience, and its cycles of deployment, redeployment, and constant transition.

“It is truly an honor to lead an organization that has been committed to military families for more than 50 years,” said Pinchotti. “With this remarkable team beside me, I look forward to supporting military families with the passion and commitment they deserve.”

Pinchotti earned her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas, where she studied journalism and business. She later earned a Master’s degree at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She lives with her husband, a Marine Corps veteran, and three children in Washington, D.C.

The National Military Family Association is the leading nonprofit dedicated to serving the families who stand behind the uniform. Since 1969, NMFA has worked to strengthen and protect millions of families through its advocacy and programs. NMFA serves the families of the currently serving, veteran, retired, wounded or fallen members of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, and Commissioned Corps of the USPHS and NOAA.
