NMFA and Fisher House Unite to Celebrate Scholarship Recipients
At the National Military Family Association (NMFA), we know that military spouses are essential to the strength and success of our nation’s service members. They shoulder the challenges of military life while pursuing careers, education, and dreams of their own. Our friends at Fisher House Foundation share this belief and, since 2008, have partnered with NMFA to ensure military spouses have access to the resources they need to thrive.
NMFA and Fisher House Foundation came together to host a special luncheon honoring several of our military spouse scholarship recipients. These spouses embody resilience and determination, navigating frequent moves, deployments, and career disruptions while continuing to pursue higher education, professional licenses and certifications, vocational training, and entrepreneurial ventures.
The impact of our scholarship program, fueled in part by Fisher House Foundation, is far-reaching. Beyond tuition, spouses receive assistance for childcare expenses, business funding, and other costs that often make education and career advancement seem out of reach. By helping spouses achieve their goals, this program also strengthens military families and, in turn, the broader military community. Each scholarship not only transforms the recipient’s life but also creates ripples of change within their families and communities.
Since 1990, Fisher House Foundation has been a steadfast advocate for military and veteran families, building comfort homes at military and VA medical centers worldwide. These homes allow families to remain close, free of charge, during a loved one’s hospitalization. Their commitment to service extends seamlessly to supporting military spouses through our shared scholarship mission.
