Ashish_Vazirani 300pxAlexandria, VA — The National Military Family Association Board of Governors is delighted to announce Ashish S. Vazirani as the organization’s new Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer. Vazirani, who most recently served as the Chief Development Officer of the Armed Services YMCA, is an accomplished leader and development executive with a track record of setting up organizations on a trajectory for growth.

“Vazirani and his family embody the incredible dedication of our nation’s military. He is an exceptionally talented leader and advocate. Under his leadership, NMFA will build on its 50 year history to continue to strengthen military families through supporting programs and advocacy. Our entire NMFA team welcomes Ash,” said Tina Jonas, Chairman of the Board.

At ASYMCA, Vazirani developed lasting relationships to sustain and grow the organization’s varied programming. Prior to his service with the ASYMCA, Vazirani spent more than two decades as a management consultant and working in advisory roles for organizations including the USO (2011–2014) and Operation Homefront (2014–2017). Vazirani served in the U.S. Navy as a Submarine Officer from 1986–1993. He holds a B.E. in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University, an M.E. from the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University, and an M.B.A from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

“As a veteran and member of a family with three generations of service, the son of a combat-wounded Marine and the father of a currently serving Marine, my family has been privileged to benefit from the unparalleled advocacy and programs developed and championed by NMFA,” Vazirani said. “I am humbled to have been selected and thrilled to join this exceptional team. I look forward to the many great things we will do together to support those who serve — the service members and their families.”

Vazirani will begin his new role on September 16.

Operation Purple Camp

Eastern 4-H Center is owned and operated by NC State University. The Center's staff is dedicated to providing every camper an opportunity to feel accepted, valued, and cared about as a member of the summer camp community. Creating friendships and a sense of safety are as important to us as the activities we teach. Our vision is to establish an enjoyable and exciting summer camp program that contributes to the development of each camper's character, along with the development of important life skills. Our summer camp experience enables campers to learn these skills while doing a variety of traditional summer camp activities, such as kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, learning about nature, team challenge course, sports and games, arts and crafts, and archery. Eastern 4-H Center is also outfitted with modern recreational facilities and lodgings to make campers feel comfortable during their stay. We hope your camper will join us for a fun filled week.
