AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM NMFA
Alexandria, VA — The National Military Family Association (NMFA) announced today that its Board of Governors and Executive Director and CEO agreed to part ways.
A dedicated military family champion and accomplished leader, Ashish Vazirani made many contributions to NMFA during his tenure at the Association, including:
- Leading the organization – programs, advocacy, and staff – through a worldwide pandemic
- Championing the expansion of dependent care flexible spending accounts to military families
- Facilitating the creation and roll-out of our child care fee relief assistance program
- Leaning on his consulting experience and business acumen, Vazirani doggedly ensured that NMFA regained its four-star charity rating.
Vazirani brought fresh eyes to NMFA and his impact will be felt for years to come.
Prior to joining NMFA, Vazirani served as Chief Development Officer of the Armed Services YMCA. He has spent more than two decades as a management consultant and worked in advisory roles for organizations including the USO (2011–2014) and Operation Homefront (2014–2017). An accomplished leader and development executive with a track record of setting organizations on a trajectory for growth, Vazirani has positioned NMFA to better serve and support the military family community.
“We celebrate the contributions Ash brought to NMFA during his time here, and we will continue to applaud his work on behalf of military families going forward,” said Tina Jonas, Chairman of the Board of Governors.
Senior Director of Advancement Besa Pinchotti will step in as Acting Executive Director effective immediately.
