Transition Assistance
A monthly payment of $259 will be paid to surviving spouses with minor children for the initial two years of entitlement to Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) or until the last minor child is removed from the benefit, if earlier than two years. This transitional benefit is payable for all original DIC awards commencing on or after January 1, 2005.
