Our Association realizes that many of the issues affecting military families do not have a federal component but instead reside at the state level. In recent years, we have been pleased by the increase in state sponsored legislation supporting military families. (More)
States Continue Support for Military Spouse Employment
Military spouses deserve an equal opportunity to pursue their career goals and should not be sidelined by the financial or administrative burdens of applying for a new license every time they move across state lines. The National Military Family Association has worked in partnership with the Department of Defense (DoD) State Liaison Office to address this issue to ensure military spouses can pursue their careers regardless of the number of times they have to relocate. Support for Special Needs Families

Military families tell our Association the issues they face in caring for a special needs family member, while simultaneously supporting the service of the military member, are complex. Most often, meeting these needs requires the coordination of many military and community entities with the responsibility for that coordination often falling to the already-burdened family member.
