Military families tell our Association the issues they face in caring for a special needs family member, while simultaneously supporting the service of the military member, are complex. Most often, meeting these needs requires the coordination of many military and community entities with the responsibility for that coordination often falling to the already-burdened family member. Three More States Join Compact
Nebraska, North Dakota, and Vermont became the 37th, 38th, and 39th states respectively to join the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children. The National Military Family Association is thrilled that over 90% of our military children are now covered by this important legislation. (More)
TRICARE Young Adult Now Available
April 29, 2011
Military families concerned about making sure their new college graduate has health insurance while looking for that first job with benefits now can take advantage of the long-awaited TRICARE Young Adult Program (TYA). Enrollment is now open for the program, which allows adult children of eligible TRICARE beneficiaries to purchase TRICARE coverage up to the age of 26. (More)
