2012 Leadership Luncheon
The National Military Family Association hosted its 2012 Leadership Luncheon in October at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, VA. It served as the platform to announce the Association’s new app, MyMilitaryLife, and to host key technology and defense leaders for a discussion around the Nation’s rapid adoption and reliance on technological advancements as well as its impact on national security, wartime operations, and military family communications.
After unveiling MyMilitaryLife, the first app of its kind created to serve as a central resource that helps military families navigate issues with children, deployments, education, and other challenges, the luncheon focused on insights from our panelists General Michael Hayden (former Director of the CIA, now with The Chertoff Group), Mr. Vivek Kundra (former first Chief Information Officer of the United States, currently with Salesforce.com), and Dr. Eric Schmidt (Executive Chairman of Google). The discussion was moderated by Mr. Jim Gibson, Director, Intellectual Property Institute, University of Richmond and a member of our Association’s technology advisory council.
A special thank you to our luncheon’s title sponsor, the Association of Military Banks of America and our Family Champion event sponsors which included BAE Systems, Goldman Sachs Gives, HealthNet Federal Services, TriWest Healthcare Alliance, United Concordia, and ValueOptions. The National Military Family Association also honored S&K Sales Company with the Dr. Lowell G. Daun Award for the significant contributions to the development of the Association and its initiatives.
