About Our Camp:
Camp registration has closed.
Camp Silver Creek is located 20 miles east of Salem in the largest state park in Oregon; Silver Falls State Park. It is a traditional residence camp; campers arrive on Sunday and are matched with other campers of the same age in a cabin. Throughout the week, campers are taught to learn a new skill, make a new friend and have fun so by the time they leave on Friday, they already want to come back next year. Camp Silver Creek consists of a rustic but updated Dining Hall, Recreation Hall, Arts and Crafts Lodge, heated pool, a Lake, archery range, and the new Hemlock Village formatted with military youth in mind. All summer, from the early-morning Polar Bear Club to campfire at the end of the day, campers are engaged in activities that are fun, challenging, and memorable. Tsuga Community Commission is excited to partner with YMCA of Marion and Polk County to help create an enriching experience for military teens age 14-17 in 2013. A few outstanding role-model participants from the oldest cabin group may be asked to stay on as a Cabin Counselor in Training during the next week when Operation Purple Camp serves youth age 9-13.
