The President’s Volunteer Service Award - Gold Level
Esmeralda Aharon, Volunteer
Scott Air Force Base, IL
Esmeralda has been a Volunteer for the National Military Family Association since 2011. In 2012, she hosted several information tables on behalf of the Association. Esmeralda raised awareness about our resources through the Scott Military Family Facebook page that she maintains, participated as a military spouse scholarship judge, and networked with others to find outreach opportunities.
Russ Hopkins, Representative
Russ joined as a Volunteer Representative for the National Military Family Association in 2006. In 2012, he served on the Illinois Joining Forces task force in order to connect military families with local resources. As a great networker, he helped raise awareness about Association’s resources with military families in his civilian community.
Susan Reynolds, Representative
Fort Bragg, NC
Susan Reynolds became an Association Volunteer in November 2011. During 2012, she represented the National Military Family Association at a variety of Fayetteville events including the Living in the New Normal Committee and the Fayetteville Community Blueprint meetings. Susan is an advocate for military families with special needs and shares the Association through a variety of virtual networks and the events she attends in her local community.
Mary Scott, Chairman, Board of Governors
Mason Neck, VA
Mary began with the Association in 1996 as a Volunteer and since 2009 has been the Chairman of the Board of Governors. She takes an active role in all Association Committees, speaks on behalf of the Association at events, and is very visible with the staff and Volunteer Corps. Under Mary’s leadership and guidance, the Association expanded its growth into technology to change how family support is accessed. She is an avid Volunteer and truly believes in the spirit of volunteerism.
Tom Stanners, Board of Governors
Tom became a Volunteer with our Association in 2002 and has worked for more than 10 years to help develop fundraising and membership program policies addressing short-term program needs and positioning the Association for long-term viability. Because the organization is dependent on its ability to attract revenue on an ongoing and consistent basis, Tom’s influence has been critical to the financial growth of the organization. In 2012, Tom served on the Governance, Finance, and Planning Committees.
Until military families are relieved of the weight of war, we hope you will continue to contribute to their wellbeing.
