Below are examples of employment support available to military spouses off the installation.
Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) offers all military spouses comprehensive education and career opportunities through Military OneSource. SECO consultants are Bachelor and Master-level advisors and counselors who promote and provide self-directed solutions to empower military spouses with knowledge and skills necessary to become self-reliant in their educational and career development.
The Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), previously known as the Army Spouse Employment Partnership, was expanded by the Department of Defense in July 2011 to serve Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard spouses. MSEP provides a digital recruiting platform, offering direct access to job seeking military spouses.
Military Spouse Corporate Career Network (MSCCN) is a non-profit military employment assistance program with memoranda of agreement with all branches of the Military Services. MSCCN networks nationwide employers including those with work-from home jobs (many with benefits) to military spouses, transitioning military, war wounded and their caregivers, and all other military-affiliated job seekers.
Several organization offer mentoring programs to military spouses:
- Business and Professional Women’s Foundation (BPW) provides mentoring, jobs, and resources for women veterans and military spouses with its program Joining Forces for Women Veterans and Military Spouses Mentoring Plus™.
- MilSpouse eMentor Program was created by the Academy of Women and provides a virtual career building network for military spouses. Mentors and spouses can register and connect online.
