Veterans Employment Opportunities Act (VEOA) ensures that veterans are able to compete for government positions that previously may have only been available to existing civil service employees.
Veterans Recruitment Appointment (VRA) and 30-Percent-or-More Disabled Veterans programs allow eligible veterans to fill certain positions without competition.
Disabled Veterans Enrolled in VA Training Program allows eligible disabled veterans to receive training or work experience at VA.
Veterans Preference gives special consideration to eligible veterans looking for Federal employment. Veterans who are disabled or who served on active duty in the United States Armed Forces during certain specified time periods or in military campaigns are entitled to preference over non-veterans in hiring and in retention during reductions in force.
Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) is an employment-oriented program that assists veterans with service-connected disabilities by offering services and assistance to help them prepare for, find, and keep suitable employment. Suitable employment is work that is within the veterans' physical, mental, and emotional capabilities and matches the veteran’s skills, abilities, and interests. U.S. Department of Labor Veterans' Employment & Training Service (VETS): www.dol.gov/vets provides veterans and transitioning service members with the resources and services to succeed in the 21st century workforce.
U. S. Office of Personnel Management: www.opm.gov/veterans contains information for job seeking veterans, veterans currently employed by the Federal Government, and Federal human resources specialists. This site will assist individuals when determining a veteran's special rights and privileges for Federal civil service employment. Veterans Employment Coordination Service (VECS): www.va.gov/vecs recruits and hires veterans into the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs, particularly severely injured veterans returning from the Global War on Terror. Nine Regional Veterans Employment Coordinators (VEC) who are positioned throughout the United States, support efforts that assist veterans interested in employment at the VA.

Vet Jobs: www.vetjobs.com assists Active Duty, Transitioning Military, Reservists, Veterans, Retirees, of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Merchant Marine, National Guard, Navy, NOAA and Public Health Service along with Trailing Spouses, Eligible Former Spouses, Widows, Widowers and Dependents and DOD civilians with finding employment.
