National Military Family Association Receives Grant from the Bob Woodruff Foundation
July 7, 2015
Grant Will Help Conduct Research on Best Ways to help the Caregiver Community
Alexandria, VA – The National Military Family Association (NMFA), a nonprofit that works to strengthen and protect military families, is proud to announce that they have received a grant from the Bob Woodruff Foundation (BWF) to bring together public agencies, private organizations and the caregiver community to identify best practices for successful outreach to the vulnerable wounded population and to learn how to connect the families of the wounded to available services.
“This grant honors NMFA's legacy of providing Operation Purple® family programs since 2008 - with lessons learned - and recognizes our expertise in leading this collaborative effort to better serve deserving families,” said Joyce Raezer, National Military Family Association, Executive Director.
BWF works to ensure injured veterans and their families are thriving long after they return home. The team at BWF navigates the maze of over 46,000 nonprofit organizations to find and fund innovative programs in communities where veterans, their families and caregivers live and work.
Receiving a grant from BWF is an honor that recognizes the dedication, focus and effectiveness of NMFA’s staff, volunteers and supporters. As a grant recipient, NMFA joins the Bob Woodruff Foundation grantee network, a collaboration of top-tier programs and advocates working to help our heroes on the homefront.
