Association is Honored by Long-Time Military Family Advocate

ALEXANDRIA, VA May 9, 2011— The National Military Family Association was recognized last week at the Armed Forces Marketing Council’s 31st Annual Congressional Reception for its continued and steadfast support of military families.

“The member companies of the Armed Forces Marketing Council are proud to honor the National Military Family Association for the difference it has made in the lives of so many military families and the many successes it has achieved advocating on their behalf, especially during the past 10 years that our nation has been at war,” said Frank Hogan, Chairman of the Armed Forces Marketing Council.

Every year the Armed Forces Marketing Council recognizes individuals or organizations for their efforts to support military families, especially through the commissaries or exchanges. Past honorees include former Congressman the Honorable Ike Skelton; current Secretary of the Army and former Congressman the Honorable John McHugh; and the Honorable Susan Davis (D-53rd/CA). The National Military Family Association is the first organization to be recognized by the Armed Forces Marketing Council.

“It is an honor to receive this award and we appreciate the Armed Forces Marketing Council’s recognition of our work supporting military families,” stated Mary Scott, Chairman of the Board of Governors for the National Military Family Association.

The Association, the Marketing Council, and its members are steadfast supporters of the commissary and exchange benefit that so many military families rely on. Together and with others, they work to ensure the quality of the service provided reflects the sincere appreciation for the service of military members and their families.
